Ely Cathedral, Near Cambridge. " The Ship of the Fens"

The Cathedral dominates the low-lying or "Fen" countryside in which it is set and is a well-loved landmark for many miles around.
Hence
"Wherever you went in the Fen country you had only to look up and see it there, riding the sky like a great ship"

You are so lucky to live in a country with such a rich history and with so many facinating historic buildings to photograph.

I really like this shot. It.s very simple which somehow does justice to the grand old building. Well done

and yes, it's nice to be back :-)

nice picture...none of that beauty in this hole, unless of course you find beauty in 7/11's or trailor parks...oh and of course, who could forget the beauty of Walmart??! England is far superior in that respect.
