A little bit brighter

This is just half a mile from my house, an area called Coploe Hill, looking across the fields, that look like a patchwork quilt, the first row of trees are actually situated on a series of huge "steps" cut into the hillside by the Romans and used as a vineyard during their occupation of Britain, all around our area Roman artefacts have been found, including a Roman Villa and Mosaics.

Nice patchwork fields! And the history you have there! Very cool. Our man made history only goes back 150 some years here. The indigenous peoples history here goes back centuries but little of it is written and we (European conquerors) did little to facilitate the capture of their history. I digress..... Good job!

Well I was going to tell you the exact same thing that Perry did but he beat me to it. Very nice and even more amazing to have that history in your back yard!

In South Africa we have the same problem as in the USA. Very young history. The "European" history in Cape Town goes back to 1652, but here in Port Elizabeth the oldest building was only constructed by the British in 1799, thus 200 years. When I was in Germany last year it was amazing seeing history going back to 1000 years and more. I seem to be digressing as well.
You seem to live right out in the country. Great for pics.
